Where Words With Friends scoring differs
Zynga rebalanced the tiles, so a word's value can change a lot between games. These are the 12 letters that score differently:

|---|---|---|
| B | 4 | 3 |
| C | 4 | 3 |
| G | 3 | 2 |
| H | 3 | 4 |
| J | 10 | 8 |
| L | 2 | 1 |
| M | 4 | 3 |
| N | 2 | 1 |
| P | 4 | 3 |
| U | 2 | 1 |
| V | 5 | 4 |
| Y | 3 | 4 |
Playing to the WWF board
The J is the prize. At 10 points (8 in Scrabble), JO, JA and JAB on a triple letter score are among the best small plays in the game.
Consonants are cheaper to hold. L, N and U are worth 2 here, so short words heavy in those letters score better than their Scrabble equivalents.
The bingo bonus is smaller. A seven-tile play earns 35 extra points, not 50, so a high-value short word on a triple can beat a bingo. Sort by score and compare.
Settle a disputed word with the word checker, or go back to plain unscrambling for letter-wheel games.
